Tiger National Animal and Bird of India
The beautiful bird Indian Peacock (Pavo cristatus) is the national bird of India. The beautiful bird is a symbol of pride, grace and beauty and is also included in the Indian mythology and folk stories. The bird is about the size of swan, with a long neck and a fan-shaped array of feathers. Male Peacock is a bright colored, with a blue fronts and green bronze feathers while a peahen or female peacock is brown in color.

National animal of India is Tiger, officially known as Panthera Tigris. It has a thick bright yellow colored fur coat with dark stripes on its skin. Tiger is a symbol of power, strength and grace. Unfortunately the beautiful animal is now a days killed for its popular and beautiful skin. To protect this National animal and to balance its population, the Indian government launched “Project Tiger” in 1973 which is also supported by the World Wildlife Federation.
